Description

A bold and comforting seafood pasta dish featuring succulent shrimp and zesty garlic butter.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
  • 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1½ tbsp Old Bay seasoning, divided
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice and zest of 1 lemon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Grated Parmesan (optional)
  • ½ cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente and reserve half a cup of pasta water.
  2. Drain the pasta gently and set aside.
  3. Toss the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, olive oil, and salt.
  4. Sear the shrimp in a skillet over medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes on each side until pink and opaque, then set aside.
  5. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet over medium heat.
  6. Cook the garlic until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Stir in the lemon juice, zest, and remaining Old Bay seasoning, along with red pepper flakes if desired.
  8. Pour in the reserved pasta water and mix to create the sauce.
  9. Combine the pasta and shrimp in the skillet, tossing to coat.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan if using, serve hot.

Notes

For a creamier texture, consider adding a splash of cream or a dollop of ricotta.
