A bold and comforting seafood pasta dish featuring succulent shrimp and zesty garlic butter.
Ingredients
- 12 oz linguine or spaghetti
- 1 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1½ tbsp Old Bay seasoning, divided
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice and zest of 1 lemon
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
- Grated Parmesan (optional)
- ½ cup reserved pasta water
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente and reserve half a cup of pasta water.
- Drain the pasta gently and set aside.
- Toss the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, olive oil, and salt.
- Sear the shrimp in a skillet over medium-high heat for 1-2 minutes on each side until pink and opaque, then set aside.
- Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the garlic until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
- Stir in the lemon juice, zest, and remaining Old Bay seasoning, along with red pepper flakes if desired.
- Pour in the reserved pasta water and mix to create the sauce.
- Combine the pasta and shrimp in the skillet, tossing to coat.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan if using, serve hot.
Notes
For a creamier texture, consider adding a splash of cream or a dollop of ricotta.
