Description

A vibrant bowl of sushi-grade salmon with fresh vegetables and a flavorful miso dressing, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • ½ pound sushi-grade salmon
  • 1 tbsp capers
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp chives, finely chopped
  • Flaky salt
  • Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp white miso
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp brown sugar
  • ½ cup sushi rice, cooked according to package directions

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing the miso dressing. In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, sesame oil, soy sauce, white miso, lemon juice, and brown sugar. Whisk the dressing until well combined. Set it aside to let the flavors meld.
  2. Using a sharp knife, slice the sushi-grade salmon against the grain into very thin slices. Arrange the salmon slices in a bowl, overlapping them slightly for an appealing presentation.
  3. Top the salmon with cucumber slices, sesame seeds, chives, and red onion. Drizzle the miso dressing generously over the top, and season lightly with flaky salt and black pepper.
  4. Finally, scatter the capers over the bowl for an extra pop of flavor. Serve everything with lemon wedges on the side for a bright finish.
  5. For a fulfilling meal, serve this bowl over a bed of sushi rice.

Notes

For added spice, you can include a dash of wasabi or sriracha.
