Description

A rich and flavorful black cod dish marinated in a savory miso mixture, creating a delightful culinary experience.

Ingredients

  • 2 black cod fillets
  • 1/4 cup white miso paste
  • 1/4 cup sake
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the miso paste, sake, mirin, and sugar until smooth.
  2. Season the black cod fillets with salt and pepper, then coat them with the miso marinade.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 24 hours (up to 48 hours is ideal).
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Remove the fish from the marinade and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

For best results, marinate the fish for the full duration and let it rest after baking for optimal juiciness.
