- – 1/4 cup (60ml) miso paste
- – 2 Tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce
- – 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) brown sugar
- – 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) rice vinegar
- – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sesame oil
- – chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Season the salmon filets with salt and pepper.
- Combine the miso paste, soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a small bowl, stirring until the mixture is uniform. Save one tablespoon of this mixture.
- Place the salmon in a medium bowl and pour the sauce over it. Allow the salmon to soak in the marinade for 1-3 hours.
- Heat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Place the salmon in a large skillet and discard the marinade. Cook in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish is nearly cooked through and turns opaque.
- Apply the reserved glaze and set the oven to broil on high for 1-2 minutes until the internal temperature of the fish reaches 125-130 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds as a garnish, if desired.
Notes
- Marinate the salmon for longer for a more pronounced miso flavor.
- Sprinkle brown sugar on the salmon before baking for a touch of sweetness.
- Brighten up the flavors by adding fresh lemon juice before serving.
