Description

A flavorful dish combining rich salmon fillets with a savory-sweet miso butter sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each), skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)
  • Fresh chives or green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Miso Butter Sauce: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in miso paste, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar (if using), and sesame oil. Whisk until smooth. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
  2. Cook the Salmon: Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Season salmon with salt and pepper. Add oil to the skillet, then place salmon, skin-side down if applicable. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 145°F/63°C). Remove from skillet.
  3. Assemble the Dish: Spoon warm miso butter sauce over salmon fillets. Garnish with sesame seeds and chives or green onions. Serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Consider marinating the salmon in the miso butter sauce for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container and consume within two days.
