Description

Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Boil salted water in a large pot, and add the elbow macaroni. Cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar and Parmesan until melted.
  6. Drain the cooked macaroni and combine with the cheese sauce, ensuring every piece is coated.
