Description
A delicious lobster roll filled with sweet lobster meat, creamy mayonnaise, and a hint of lemon juice, all served in a buttery toasted bun.
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 lb whole lobster (or substitute 4 lobster tails or 1 lb lobster meat)
- 1 tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp diced chives
- 1/2 tbsp minced parsley
- 2 tbsp diced celery
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cracked black pepper to taste
- 2 hot dog buns
- 1 tbsp salted butter (melted)
Instructions
- Begin by boiling water in a pot. If using whole lobster, place it in the boiling water and cook for about 12-15 minutes until it turns bright red. For lobster tails, adjust the time based on size. Once done, transfer the lobster to an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
- After cooling, carefully crack the shells and extract the lobster meat. Cut it into bite-sized chunks, ensuring no pieces remain in the shell.
- In a large bowl, combine the lobster meat, lemon juice, mayonnaise, chives, parsley, diced celery, salt, and pepper. Toss everything gently to combine, ensuring each piece of lobster is coated without being mashed.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Brush the inside of each hot dog bun with melted butter and toast them in the pan until golden brown.
- Fill each toasted bun generously with the lobster mixture.
- Enjoy these lobster rolls immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
For extra zest, try adding a pinch of paprika or experimenting with fresh herbs like dill or tarragon. Pre-cooked lobster is a fantastic shortcut if you’re short on time.
