  • Salt & Pepper
  • 3 Tablespoons Finely Chopped Parsley (45 ml)
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil (45 ml)
  • 1 Pound Small Dried Pasta Of Choice (454 g)
  • 1 Quart 2% Milk (946 ml)
  • 1 Stick (8 Tablespoons) Unsalted Butter (113 g)
  • 1/2 Cup All-purpose Flour (60 g)
  • 1/4 Cup Finely Chopped Onion (60 ml)
  • Salt & Pepper
  • 1/2 Teaspoon (3 ml) Nutmeg
  • 12 Ounces Grated Cheddar Cheese (340 g)
  • 8 Ounces Cubed Mozzarella Cheese (226 g)
  • 1 1/2 Pounds Cooked Beef Meat, Cut Into 1 Inch Dice (680 g)

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 375°F to preheat.
  2. Boil the pasta in salted water, reducing the cooking time by 2 minutes from the package instructions.
  3. Thoroughly drain the cooked pasta.
  4. In a sturdy pot, melt the butter until it bubbles, then add the onion and sauté until it becomes tender.
  5. Incorporate the flour by whisking it into the mixture and let it cook for an additional couple of minutes.
  6. Gradually pour the milk into the buttery mixture, constantly whisking.
  7. Continue to cook on medium heat, frequently whisking, until the mixture thickens.
  8. Introduce the cheese, along with salt, pepper, and nutmeg, and keep stirring on low heat until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
  9. Combine the drained pasta and beef with the sauce, mixing thoroughly.
  10. Transfer the pasta and sauce mixture into a greased baking dish that can accommodate it.
  11. Prepare the topping by mixing those specific ingredients, then distribute the breadcrumbs evenly over the pasta.
  12. Place the dish in the oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until it is bubbly, hot, and the top is a light golden brown.
  13. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving it in separate bowls.
