Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread (5 mm)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1-2 ounces cooked beef meat, roughly chopped (28-56 g)
  • 1/2 cup baby arugula (15 g)
  • 2 thick slices cheddar cheese (60 g)
  • Freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Spread vegetable oil on one side of each bread slice.
  2. Place one slice, oiled side down, in a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat.
  3. Add the chopped beef, baby arugula, cheddar cheese, and freshly ground black pepper in layers.
  4. Cover with the second slice of bread, oiled side facing up.
  5. Cook until the bread is golden, the cheese is gooey, and the beef is warmed, turning over after a couple of minutes.
  6. Cut in half and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use whole wheat bread for a healthier twist.
  • Try Swiss or provolone cheese for a unique taste.
  • Add tomato or red onion slices for freshness and crunch.
