Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1/2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter without burning.
- Add the minced garlic to the melted butter, sautéing for about one minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream, whisking to combine, and simmer for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the Parmesan cheese, fresh lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Remove the pan from heat and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
- Serve immediately over pasta, seafood, chicken, or vegetables.
Notes
For a richer flavor, consider adding cream cheese or sour cream during cooking. If the sauce is too thick, whisk in a splash of broth.
