Description

A delightful seafood dish featuring tender cod fillets baked in a luscious lemon butter sauce, infused with garlic and herbs.

Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon slices for garnish
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, olive oil, thyme, and parsley.
  4. Place the cod fillets in the prepared baking dish. Season both sides of the fish with salt and pepper.
  5. Pour the lemon butter mixture evenly over the cod fillets, ensuring each fillet is coated with sauce.
  6. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cod is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices before serving.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for best results. Consider adding vegetables for a complete meal.
