Description
Deliciously juicy Greek chicken burgers infused with herbs and feta, topped with refreshing tzatziki sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Chicken (93% lean)
- 1/2 cup Feta Cheese (can substitute with goat cheese or omit for dairy-free)
- 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
- 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (or dill)
- 1 tsp Dried Oregano (fresh works if available)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper (freshly ground)
- 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp Lemon Zest
- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (or almond flour for gluten-free)
- 1 large Egg (for binding)
- 1 cup Tzatziki Sauce (fresh or store-bought)
- 2 cups Fresh Vegetables (lettuce, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers)
- 4 pieces Buns or Pita (whole grain or gluten-free)
Instructions
- Combine the ground chicken, feta cheese, onion, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes (if using), lemon zest, lemon juice, breadcrumbs, and egg in a large bowl. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat, lightly greased to prevent sticking. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a chicken patty on a bun or pita. Top with tzatziki sauce and fresh vegetables.
Notes
Allow the burger mixture to rest for 15-20 minutes before forming patties for maximum flavor.
