Description

Enjoy the fun of making sushi at home with this innovative ice cube tray method, perfect for gatherings and personal creativity.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sushi rice (raw)
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tbsp sushi rice vinegar
  • Sushi toppings of your choice (like cucumbers, avocado, or fish)
  • 1 nori seaweed sheet
  • Soy sauce (for dipping)


Instructions

  1. Wash the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine the rinsed rice with 1 cup of water in a rice cooker.
  3. Cook according to your rice cooker’s instructions, then let sit for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Mix in the sushi rice vinegar gently without crushing the grains.
  5. Cool the rice to room temperature.
  6. Line an ice cube tray with plastic wrap.
  7. Add your chosen sushi topping at the bottom of each compartment.
  8. Press sushi rice on top of the topping firmly.
  9. Cut the nori sheet into small squares and place on top of the rice.
  10. Flip the ice cube tray upside down over a plate to release the sushi.
  11. Dip the sushi in soy sauce before serving.
