Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, thawed, peeled, deveined, tail-on
- 1 cup buttermilk (or a dairy-free option)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
- ½ cup hot honey (homemade or store-bought)
- Parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the shrimp by soaking them in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix flour with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Remove shrimp from buttermilk, letting excess drip off, and dredge in the seasoned flour mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat and test with a small piece of shrimp.
- Fry the shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Drizzle hot honey over the fried shrimp and garnish with parsley.
