Ingredients
- – 2 pounds (900 g) peeled and deveined shrimp
- – 1/3 cup (80 ml) sriracha
- – 1/3 cup (80 ml) honey
- – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce
- – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) rice vinegar
- – 2 cloves minced garlic
- – juice of one lime (optional)
Instructions
- Pour a generous amount of avocado or olive oil into a large frying pan and warm it on medium heat.
- Wash the shrimp under running water, then dry them thoroughly. Place the shrimp in the preheated pan and let them cook for approximately 5-6 minutes until they turn opaque, then take them out and put them aside.
- In another small bowl, combine the sriracha, honey, rice vinegar, soy sauce, and minced garlic by whisking them together, then pour this mixture into the same pan used for the shrimp.
- Let the sauce come to a boil on medium heat, and once boiling, reduce the heat slightly and allow it to continue boiling for 5-10 minutes, stirring from time to time, until the sauce thickens into a glaze.
- After the sauce has thickened, lower the heat and return the shrimp to the pan, ensuring they are well-coated with the glaze. Let them simmer on low heat for 5 minutes, then remove from the heat and serve with rice or vegetables.
Notes
- To add a tangy kick, drizzle lime juice over the shrimp before serving.
- Ensure shrimp is thoroughly dried before cooking to avoid excess moisture in the pan.
- Adjust sriracha amount to suit your preferred level of spiciness. Serve over rice or with steamed vegetables.
