Ingredients
- – 1/3 cup (80 ml) honey
- – 1/4 cup (60 ml) tamari soy sauce (or coconut aminos)
- – 4 garlic cloves, minced
- – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) freshly grated ginger
- – 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) crushed red pepper flakes
- – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
- – 1 pound (450 g) raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) finely chopped cilantro or parsley
- – 1 green onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the honey, tamari soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes.
- Place the shrimp in another bowl and drizzle a third of the prepared mixture over them. Mix well to evenly coat and let them sit in the marinade for 15-20 minutes.
- Warm the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp, making sure to discard any extra marinade, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes on each side until they turn pink and are just cooked through.
- Add the remaining sauce to the pan and let it simmer, stirring occasionally, until it slightly thickens and heats through, about a minute.
- Remove from heat, mix in the chopped cilantro or parsley, and garnish with the sliced green onions before serving.
Notes
- Marinate the shrimp for an extended period for a more intense flavor.
- Opt for fresh cilantro or parsley for enhanced taste and aroma.
- Remove any excess marinade before cooking to avoid an overly saucy dish.
