Description

A simple yet flavorful dish capturing the essence of home-cooked meals, combining sweet honey and aromatic garlic to elevate salmon.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz. salmon (cut into 2-3 fillet strips)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon warm water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 lemon (sliced into wedges)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Season the surface of the salmon with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper, and then set it aside.
  2. Combine honey, warm water, apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice), and a pinch of salt in a bowl, and stir well to mix.
  3. Heat an oven-safe skillet (preferably cast iron) over high heat. Add olive oil and pan-fry the salmon, skin side down, for about 1 minute.
  4. Flip the salmon and cook for another minute. Then, turn it over again so that the skin side is facing down.
  5. Add the minced garlic to the pan and sauté until it is slightly browned.
  6. Next, add the honey mixture and lemon wedges to the skillet. Let it reduce until the sauce becomes sticky.
  7. Finish by broiling the salmon in the oven for 1 minute, or until the surface becomes slightly charred (optional step).
  8. Top the salmon with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve with steamed vegetables, light salads, or rice dishes. For storing leftovers, place in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
