Description

A delicious honey garlic glazed tilapia recipe that balances sweet, savory, and zesty flavors, perfect for busy weeknights or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 4 (6-ounce) Fresh or Thawed Frozen Tilapia Fillets
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 4 cloves Garlic, finely minced
  • 1/3 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons Water
  • Optional Garnishes: Freshly chopped parsley, toasted sesame seeds, or thinly sliced green onions

Instructions

  1. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Set aside.
  3. In another small bowl, stir together cornstarch and water to form a slurry.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Add tilapia fillets, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Cook in batches if needed.
  6. Once flipped, add butter and allow it to melt.
  7. Reduce heat to medium-low and pour in the honey garlic mixture. Let it bubble for 1-2 minutes.
  8. Add the cornstarch slurry, stirring gently until the sauce thickens.
  9. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes, spooning glaze over the tilapia.
  10. Remove tilapia from pan and drizzle with remaining glaze. Garnish as desired and serve hot.

Notes

For a thicker glaze, let it simmer longer after adding the cornstarch slurry. Fresh garlic and ginger provide the best flavor.
