Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup honey
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients: cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: milk, eggs, melted butter, and honey.
- Combine the wet mixture with the dry mixture and stir gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cornbread cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a crispier crust, bake a few extra minutes. Store wrapped tightly at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
