Description

A moist and lightly sweet cornbread, enriched with honey, perfect for any meal or gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients: cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the wet ingredients: milk, eggs, melted butter, and honey.
  4. Combine the wet mixture with the dry mixture and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the cornbread cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a crispier crust, bake a few extra minutes. Store wrapped tightly at room temperature for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
