Description

Delicious homemade crab cakes with a crispy exterior and tender crab meat interior, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine crab meat, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  2. Gently mix until just combined. Avoid overmixing to maintain the lumps of crab meat.
  3. Form the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat until it shimmers.
  5. Fry cakes for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve warm with your choice of sauce.

Notes

For best results, chill crab cakes before frying and ensure oil is at the right temperature to avoid sogginess.
