A delightful blend of flavors and textures, this hibachi fried rice brings the joy of hibachi cooking right into your home.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs, well beaten
- 2 tablespoons salted butter
- ½ cup sweet onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups cooked and cooled long-grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 green onions (green parts only), thinly sliced
Instructions
- In a wok or large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
- Pour in the beaten eggs and stir gently until nearly cooked but still slightly wet, about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Transfer the eggs back to the bowl.
- Add the salted butter and diced sweet onion to the skillet. Cook until the onions become translucent, stirring occasionally, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the cooked and cooled rice to the skillet, mixing everything together. Cook until the rice is heated through, stirring occasionally, for about 3-5 minutes.
- Return the cooked eggs to the skillet and add the soy sauce. Stir to combine, breaking up the eggs into smaller pieces, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
- Fold in the thinly sliced green onions and serve hot.
Notes
