Description
A delightful Hawaiian-inspired sushi roll featuring savory caramelized Spam and sticky sushi rice wrapped in nori.
Ingredients
- 1 can Spam
- 2 cups sushi rice
- 4 sheets nori (roasted seaweed)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 tablespoons mirin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Water
Instructions
- Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions.
- Slice the Spam and caramelize it in a pan with soy sauce, sugar, mirin, and sesame oil.
- Once the Spam is caramelized, place a sushi mat down and wet it.
- Layer sticky sushi rice, followed by slices of Spam, and roll it tightly with nori.
- Slice into pieces and serve.
Notes
Use a sharp knife when slicing the sushi to maintain clean edges. Keep your hands slightly wet to prevent the rice from sticking.
