Description

A beautifully grilled ahi tuna steak seasoned with sesame seeds and drizzled with a zingy sesame soy dressing, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 ahi fish steaks
  • ¼ cup dark sesame seeds
  • ¼ cup white sesame seeds
  • Oil for grilling
  • ¼ cup soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • ½ tsp garlic paste
  • ½ tsp ginger paste
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp garlic chili oil (optional)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Coat the ahi fish steaks with oil and then press sesame seeds onto both sides.
  3. Grill the tuna steaks for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic paste, ginger paste, lime juice, sesame oil, olive oil, honey, garlic chili oil, and salt to create the sesame soy dressing.
  5. Serve the grilled tuna steaks with the dressing drizzled on top.

Notes

Use high-quality, sashimi-grade ahi tuna for the best results. Letting the fish rest after grilling enhances flavor.
