Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) sea scallops (450 grams)
  • 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s olive oil (30 milliliters)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt (5 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper (1.5 grams)
  • 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s unsalted butter (28 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice (15 milliliters)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) lemon zest (2 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chopped fresh parsley (4 grams)


Instructions

  1. Rinse the sea scallops under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, toss the scallops with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Place the scallops on the grill, leaving space between each one.
  5. Grill the scallops for 2-3 minutes on each side until opaque and slightly charred.
  6. Remove the scallops from the grill and set aside.
  7. In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.
  8. Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest into the melted butter.
  9. Remove the saucepan from heat once the butter mixture is well combined.
  10. Drizzle the lemon butter sauce over the grilled scallops.
  11. Garnish the scallops with chopped fresh parsley.
