Description

A flavorful Greek octopus stew that transports you to sunny shores, made with fresh octopus, garlic, onions, and spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 kg octopus, cleaned and cut into pieces
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion becomes translucent.
  3. Add the octopus pieces and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 45 minutes, or until the octopus is tender.
  6. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
