Ingredients
- 4 tilapia filets (approximately 150 g each)
- 4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup of fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon of paprika (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon slices for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse and dry tilapia filets thoroughly with paper towels.
- Season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika, if using.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add butter and let it melt.
- Add the chopped garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, until it turns golden and fragrant. Remove the garlic and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the tilapia filets and cook over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Return the garlic to the pan. Pour fresh lemon juice over the filets and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes for flavors to meld.
- Transfer the tilapia to a serving plate, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and garnish with lemon slices if desired.
Notes
Use a fish spatula for flipping tilapia to keep filets intact. Experiment with additional herbs like thyme or dill for a flavor boost.
