Description
A simple yet flavorful garlic butter tilapia dish served with rice, embodying comfort and joy in every bite.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless tilapia fillets
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley (or 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped)
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (or to taste)
- 3 cups cooked rice (basmati, jasmine, or white)
- Optional garnishes: Fresh parsley sprigs, lemon wedges
Instructions
- Begin by melting the unsalted butter in a medium-sized skillet over medium heat. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about one minute until fragrant.
- Add the tilapia fillets to the skillet. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper, ensuring both sides are evenly coated. Cook for approximately 3-5 minutes on one side.
- Carefully flip the fillets and pour the freshly squeezed lemon juice over them. Continue cooking for another 3-5 minutes or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Sprinkle dried parsley over the fillets during the last minute of cooking.
- Serve a generous scoop of rice on individual plates, then top with a tilapia fillet and drizzle the garlic butter sauce over the top. Add optional garnishes like fresh parsley sprigs or lemon wedges.
Notes
Using fresh ingredients, especially garlic and tilapia, enhances the flavors. Monitor cooking time closely to prevent overcooking the fish.
