Description

Sizzling garlic butter shrimp skewers, perfect for summer cookouts and cozy dinners, infused with vibrant flavors of garlic, lemon, and herbs.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4-5 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp by peeling, deveining, and rinsing them under cold water, then pat dry.
  2. Melt unsalted butter and olive oil in a saucepan over low heat, add garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, oregano, and paprika, stirring to combine.
  3. Place shrimp in a bowl, pour the marinade over, and toss to coat. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. If using wooden skewers, soak them for 30 minutes. Thread shrimp onto the skewers.
  5. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat, brushing the grates with oil.
  6. Cook the shrimp skewers for 2-3 minutes per side until shrimp turn pink and cooked through.
  7. Remove from heat, garnish with parsley, and serve hot with lemon wedges.

Notes

For added flavor, consider sprinkling crushed red pepper flakes in the marinade. Serve alongside a small bowl of garlic butter for dipping.
