Ingredients
- 1 pound (454 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined (450 grams)
- 8 ounces (227 g) linguine (225 grams)
- 3 tablespoons (45 ml) vegetable oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) red pepper flakes (0.6 grams)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) beef broth (60 milliliters)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice (15 milliliters)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) chopped parsley (8 grams)
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) grated Parmesan cheese (25 grams)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to boil.
- Cook the linguine according to package instructions until al dente.
- Drain the linguine and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup of pasta water.
- In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 4-5 minutes until pink and opaque.
- Remove shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Add chicken broth and lemon juice to the skillet, scraping up any browned bits.
- Stir in the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter until melted.
- Add the cooked linguine and reserved pasta water to the skillet, tossing to coat.
- Return shrimp to the skillet, mix well to combine.
- Stir in chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Adjust seasoning with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
