Description

Learn how to make delicious Garlic Butter Shrimp and Broccoli with this easy recipe. Perfect for a quick and tasty weeknight dinner!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (60 ml)
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger (5 g)
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil (5 ml)
  • 16 ounces Extra Large Raw Shrimp, peeled and deveined (450 g)
  • 10 ounce bag frozen broccoli, steamed (285 g)
  • 4 tablespoons beef tallow (60 g)
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch (5 g)
  • white or jasmine rice for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, grated ginger, and chopped garlic until well combined.
  2. Place the shrimp in a medium-sized bowl, pour half of the sauce over them, and mix thoroughly to ensure they’re well-coated. You can choose to leave the tails on or take them off.
  3. In a large frying pan, pour in the olive oil and warm it over medium heat.
  4. Add the shrimp to the pan. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side, until they curl up and become pink.
  5. Introduce the beef tallow and the steamed broccoli to the pan, stirring until the tallow is fully melted.
  6. Add a pinch of salt and pepper for seasoning.
  7. Combine the cornstarch with the rest of the sauce.
  8. Pour the cornstarch mixture into the pan, stir, and continue cooking until the sauce thickens slightly.
  9. Enjoy it on its own or serve over rice.

Notes

  • Consider using coconut aminos as a healthier alternative to soy sauce.
  • Experiment with bell peppers or snap peas for added color and flavor.
  • Pat the shrimp dry before cooking for a better sear.
