Ingredients

  • 2 lobsters (about 680 grams each)
  • 8 sea scallops
  • 1 cup (240 ml) (226 grams) beef tallow or vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice (15 milliliters)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chopped fresh parsley (15 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil (15 milliliters)
  • 1 lemon, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  3. Add the lobsters to the boiling water and cook for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Remove lobsters and let them cool slightly before splitting them in half lengthwise.
  5. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  6. Add minced garlic to the butter and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  7. Stir in the lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
  8. Brush the garlic butter mixture over the lobster meat.
  9. Place the lobster halves on a baking sheet, shell side down.
  10. Bake lobsters in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.
  11. While the lobster bakes, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  12. Pat scallops dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  13. Add scallops to the hot skillet and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  14. Remove scallops from the skillet and set aside.
  15. Once lobsters are done, remove them from the oven.
  16. Arrange lobster halves and scallops on a serving platter.
  17. Drizzle remaining garlic butter over scallops.
  18. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the seafood.
  19. Garnish with lemon slices.
  20. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Ensure lobsters are fully cooked by checking that the meat is opaque and firm.
  • For a more decadent flavor, use clarified butter instead of beef tallow in the garlic butter mixture.
  • Avoid overcooking the scallops to prevent them from becoming tough and rubbery.
