Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds (680 g) lobster tails (680 grams)
  • 1 pound (454 g) sea scallops (450 grams)
  • 8 tablespoon (120 ml) s unsalted butter (113 grams)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice (15 milliliters)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt (5 grams)
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper (1 gram)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 lemon, sliced for garnish
  • Optional : 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) red pepper flakes (0.5 grams) for added heat


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare the lobster tails by cutting the top shell lengthwise with kitchen shears.
  3. Remove the vein and slightly lift the meat above the shell.
  4. Pat the lobster tails and scallops dry with paper towels.
  5. Season the lobster tails and scallops with salt and black pepper.
  6. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  7. Add minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  8. Stir in lemon juice, and if using, red pepper flakes into the butter mixture.
  9. Arrange the lobster tails and scallops on a baking sheet.
  10. Brush the garlic butter mixture generously over the lobster and scallops.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until the lobster is opaque and scallops are cooked through.
  12. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  13. Transfer to a serving platter and garnish with lemon slices.
  14. Serve immediately while warm.
