Description

A simple yet sophisticated dish featuring fresh cod fillets baked in a rich garlic butter sauce with a hint of lemon.

Ingredients

  • 4 fresh cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice and remove the pan from heat.
  5. Place the cod fillets in the greased baking dish. Pour the garlic butter mixture over the top.
  6. Season the fish with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding herbs like thyme or dill to the garlic butter. Substitute other white fish for variety.
