A simple yet sophisticated dish featuring fresh cod fillets baked in a rich garlic butter sauce with a hint of lemon.
Ingredients
- 4 fresh cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Stir in the lemon juice and remove the pan from heat.
- Place the cod fillets in the greased baking dish. Pour the garlic butter mixture over the top.
- Season the fish with salt and pepper to taste.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding herbs like thyme or dill to the garlic butter. Substitute other white fish for variety.
