Description
A simple and flavorful garlic butter baked cod recipe that transforms fresh cod fillets into a succulent meal.
Ingredients
- 4 fresh cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking dish with nonstick spray.
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Stir in lemon juice and remove from heat.
- Place cod fillets in the baking dish. Pour the garlic butter mixture evenly over the fillets. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For variation, add smoked paprika or red pepper flakes for a kick. Fresh thyme or dill can complement the dish beautifully.
