Description

A comforting, creamy fish chowder with crispy bacon, fresh vegetables, and white fish that warms both heart and home.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb white fish (like cod or haddock), cut into chunks
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 4 cups fish stock or water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pot.
  2. Add the onion, carrots, and celery to the pot and sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in the potatoes and cook for a few minutes.
  4. Add the fish stock or water and bring to a simmer. Cook until the potatoes are tender.
  5. Add the fish chunks and cook until the fish is cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream, and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with crispy bacon and fresh parsley.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, consider adding a sprig of thyme or a dash of paprika. Adjust the consistency by adding more fish stock or cream as desired.
