Description

A legendary Maryland recipe featuring jumbo lump crab meat mixed with savory ingredients and baked to perfection.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Jumbo Lump Crab Meat
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise
  • 1 Egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Green Onions or Chives, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Breadcrumbs (optional)
  • 1 pinch Salt and Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, melted
  • 1 whole Lemon, cut into wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine crab meat, mayonnaise, beaten egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, green onions, breadcrumbs (if using), salt, and pepper.
  3. Gently fold the ingredients together to preserve lumps of crab meat and shape them into uniform balls.
  4. Arrange the crab bombs on the lined baking sheet and drizzle with melted butter.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy at the edges.
  6. Serve warm with lemon wedges and your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

For best results, use fresh crab meat and consider chilling the shaped bombs before baking. Adjust seasoning as desired.
