Description

Sizzling strips of tender beef drenched in sweet and savory sauce create a mouthwatering dish perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • lb sirloin steak, cut into ¼-inch thick slices
  • ⅓ cup cornstarch
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • Red pepper flakes (to taste)
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup water
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 2 green onions (green parts only)

Instructions

  1. Slice the steak into ¼-inch thick pieces and cover with plastic wrap, gently pound with a meat mallet to thin.
  2. Place the sliced steak in a ziplock bag with cornstarch, massage to coat evenly.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the steak slices in a single layer for 30 seconds per side in batches.
  5. Remove the steak and season with salt.
  6. Sauté ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes in the same pan for 10-15 seconds.
  7. Add soy sauce, water, and brown sugar, bringing to a boil.
  8. Return the steak to the pan, thicken the sauce over 20-30 seconds.
  9. Add sliced green onions and mix well.

Notes

Let the steak marinate briefly in soy sauce and ginger paste for enhanced flavor. Adjust red pepper flakes to customize heat level.
