Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) squid, cleaned and sliced (450 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil (30 milliliters)
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce (30 milliliters)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chili paste (15 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sugar (12 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sesame oil (5 milliliters)
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame seeds (9 grams)


Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper to the pan.
  3. Stir-fry the vegetables for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
  4. Push the vegetables to one side of the pan.
  5. Add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil to the empty side of the pan.
  6. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  7. Add the sliced squid to the pan with the garlic.
  8. Stir-fry the squid for 2-3 minutes until it turns opaque.
  9. In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, gochujang, and sugar.
  10. Pour the sauce mixture over the squid and vegetables.
  11. Stir well to coat everything evenly with the sauce.
  12. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  13. Drizzle sesame oil over the stir-fry and mix well.
  14. Remove the pan from heat and garnish with chopped green onions.
  15. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top before serving.
