Description
A simple yet flavorful grilled octopus recipe that captures the essence of summer by the sea.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds fresh octopus
- Olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
- Juice from 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 2 tsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Place the octopus in a pot and cover with enough water.
- Bring to a boil and allow it to cook for 40 minutes.
- Remove the octopus from hot water, rinse, and place it in a bowl.
- Drizzle with olive oil and add the chopped garlic.
- Let it cool and rest at room temperature for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Preheat a gas grill to medium-high heat.
- Slice the octopus tentacles and grill for 3-4 minutes per side until charred.
- Remove from heat and place back in a bowl.
- Drizzle with olive oil, add lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper.
- Optionally sprinkle some oregano and parsley on top.
- Serve.
Notes
Consider marinating the octopus in olive oil and garlic before grilling for added flavor.
