Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340 g) spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt, to taste
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) grated Parmesan cheese


Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Drain the spaghetti and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
  7. Stir in the red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  8. Pour in the chicken broth and lemon juice, stirring to combine.
  9. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce.
  10. If needed, add reserved pasta water to loosen the sauce.
  11. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
  12. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta and toss gently.
  13. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if desired.
  14. Serve the garlic shrimp pasta immediately.
