Ingredients
- 450 g crab meat
- 2 tablespoons (28 g) vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped

- 3 tablespoons (24 g) all-purpose flour
- 3 cups (710 ml) chicken broth
- 1 cup (240 ml) coconut cream
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 g) black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon (0.5 g) cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon (3 g) chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute.
- Sprinkle the flour over the onions and garlic, stirring constantly for 2 minutes.
- Gradually pour in the chicken broth, whisking to prevent lumps.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the crab meat to the pot and stir well.
- Pour in the heavy cream and mix until fully combined.
- Season the bisque with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Simmer for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- Stir in the lemon juice and chopped fresh parsley.
- Remove the pot from heat and let the bisque cool slightly.
- Transfer the bisque to containers, leaving space at the top for expansion if freezing.
- Seal the containers and freeze until ready to use.
