Description

A bold and spicy dish featuring shrimp in a flavorful garlic, chili, and tomato sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 tablespoons chili paste (adjust for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp by rinsing under cold water and patting dry with paper towels.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and chopped onion, sauté until translucent.
  4. Stir in chili paste, smoked paprika, ground cumin, and red pepper flakes.
  5. Pour in crushed tomatoes and chicken broth; bring to simmer.
  6. Add shrimp, cook until pink and opaque, about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Drizzle lime juice and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Serve garnished with fresh cilantro if desired.

Notes

Serve with crusty bread or over rice to soak up the sauce. Adjust spiciness to your preference.
