Description
Delicious shrimp scampi enveloped in soft, crispy garlic bread, creating an indulgent and flavorful feast.
Ingredients
- 4 large hoagie rolls or French bread
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare your ingredients.
- Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Introduce the shrimp to the garlic butter and cook until they turn pink and opaque, approximately 2-3 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped parsley, lemon juice, optional red pepper flakes, and add salt and pepper to taste.
- Slice the hoagie rolls or French bread in half and hollow them out, leaving enough bread along the sides to hold the delicious filling.
- Generously stuff each bread piece with the shrimp mixture, ensuring even distribution.
- Top each stuffed piece with shredded mozzarella cheese, creating a gooey layer.
- Place the stuffed bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese melts and the bread turns golden.
- Allow the boats to cool slightly before slicing and serving warm.
Notes
Use day-old bread for sturdier texture. Experiment with different cheeses or add vegetables for extra flavor.
