Ingredients
- 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 lb smoked sausage, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the sliced sausage until it browns beautifully. Once done, remove it from the skillet and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, add olive oil and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. Next, toss in the shrimp, cooking them until they turn a lovely pink. Remove and set aside after cooking.
- Now, add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Sprinkle in smoked paprika, seasoning it with salt and pepper. Sauté the cabbage until it becomes tender but still holds a slight crispness.
- Combine the shrimp and browned sausage with the cabbage in the skillet. Cook the mixture for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving hot.
Notes
For added flavor, consider using a cast-iron skillet. This type of pan retains heat exceptionally well, enhancing the caramelization process.
