Description

A comforting dish featuring crispy cabbage, succulent shrimp, and smoky sausage that brings the warmth of family gatherings to your table.


Ingredients

  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the sliced sausage until it browns beautifully. Once done, remove it from the skillet and set it aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add olive oil and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant. Next, toss in the shrimp, cooking them until they turn a lovely pink. Remove and set aside after cooking.
  3. Now, add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Sprinkle in smoked paprika, seasoning it with salt and pepper. Sauté the cabbage until it becomes tender but still holds a slight crispness.
  4. Combine the shrimp and browned sausage with the cabbage in the skillet. Cook the mixture for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
  5. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving hot.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using a cast-iron skillet. This type of pan retains heat exceptionally well, enhancing the caramelization process.
