Ingredients

  • Shrimp, peeled and deveined – 1 pound (454 g) (450 grams)
  • All-purpose flour – 1 cup (240 ml) (120 grams)
  • Cornstarch – 1/2 cup (120 ml) (60 grams)
  • Baking powder – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) (5 grams)
  • Salt – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) (5 grams)
  • Black pepper – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) (2.5 grams)
  • Garlic powder – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) (5 grams)
  • Paprika – 1 teaspoon (5 ml) (5 grams)
  • Eggs – 2 large
  • Water – 1 cup (240 ml) (240 milliliters)
  • Vegetable oil – for frying
  • Waffle batter (prepared) – 2 cup (480 ml) s (480 milliliters)
  • Parmesan cheese, grated – 1/2 cup (120 ml) (50 grams)
  • Heavy cream – 1 cup (240 ml) (240 milliliters)
  • Butter – 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s (28 grams)
  • Garlic, minced – 2 cloves
  • Parsley, chopped – 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s (8 grams)
  • Moz zarella cheese, shredded – 1 cup (240 ml) (100 grams)


Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and season with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, and a pinch of salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs with water until smooth.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat for frying.
  5. Dip shrimp in the flour mixture, then in the egg mixture, and again in the flour mixture.
  6. Fry shrimp in hot oil until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Drain shrimp on paper towels and set aside.
  8. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat and add minced garlic.
  9. Cook garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  10. Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese into the saucepan.
  11. Simmer until the Alfredo sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
  12. Stir in chopped parsley and remove from heat.
  13. Prepare waffle batter according to package instructions or recipe.
  14. Preheat a waffle maker and lightly grease with cooking spray.
  15. Pour a small amount of waffle batter into the waffle maker.
  16. Place a few pieces of fried shrimp in the center of the batter.
  17. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the shrimp.
  18. Cover the shrimp and cheese with more waffle batter.
  19. Close the waffle maker and cook until waffles are golden brown and crisp.
  20. Remove waffle bombs from the waffle maker and repeat with remaining ingredients.
  21. Drizzle Alfredo sauce over the cooked waffle bombs.
  22. Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
