Description

A delightful crispy fried cod fish sandwich, combining flaky fish with fresh toppings and a crunchy coating for a beach-inspired meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Tartar sauce
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Whisk together eggs and milk in a shallow bowl.
  2. Combine flour, paprika, salt, and pepper in another bowl.
  3. Place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  4. Dip each cod fillet first in the flour mixture, then in the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Fry each fillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Assemble the sandwich by placing a piece of fried cod on a bun and topping with lettuce, tomato slices, and tartar sauce.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double breading the fish. Let fried cod rest on a wire rack to keep coating crispy.
