Delightful taquitos filled with crab and shrimp combined with gooey queso cheese, perfect for gatherings and satisfying cravings.
Ingredients
- 8 small tortillas
- 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped
- 1 cup canned crab meat, drained
- 1 cup queso cheese, melted
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Vegetable oil (for frying or baking)
- Spicy aioli or salsa (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (if baking) or heat oil in a fryer (if frying).
- Combine chopped shrimp, crab meat, melted queso, cream cheese, green onions, garlic powder, and chili powder in a bowl. Mix well to form the filling.
- Place a heaping tablespoon of filling onto each tortilla and roll it up tightly, securing the ends.
- If baking, place taquitos seam-side down on a baking sheet. Brush with oil and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- If frying, carefully place taquitos in hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with spicy aioli or salsa.
Notes
For added texture, try incorporating diced jalapeños or black beans into the filling.
