Description

Delight in the vibrant flavors and crispy texture of these Baja fish tacos, made with fresh fish fillets and topped with cabbage and crema.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup crema or sour cream
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • Chopped cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Dredge the fish fillets in the flour mixture, coating both sides.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the fish for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden and cooked through.
  5. Warm the tortillas in another pan.
  6. Assemble the tacos by placing fish on the tortillas, topping with cabbage, drizzle with crema, and garnish with cilantro.
  7. Serve with lime wedges.

Notes

For the best flavor and texture, always use fresh fish. Consider adding cayenne pepper for a spicy kick, and warm your tortillas to enhance their pliability.
