Description

A delightful combination of creamy richness and zesty brightness that elevates any meal.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (fettuccine, spaghetti, or penne)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 ½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup pasta water
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Zest and juice of 2 lemons
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Chopped fresh parsley
  • Crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Extra Parmesan cheese (for serving)
  • Lemon slices (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Boil the pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve one cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Make the Creamy Lemon Sauce: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Stir in heavy cream, then add lemon zest and juice, seasoning with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
  3. Combine the Pasta and Sauce: Add drained pasta to the sauce, tossing gently. Use reserved pasta water to adjust the consistency. Incorporate grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. Garnish and Serve: Serve hot, garnished with parsley and extra Parmesan. Add lemon slices for presentation.

Notes

For extra zest, consider using lemon extract if fresh lemons aren’t available. Experiment with different types of pasta for varied textures.
