Description

A quick and easy creamy garlic shrimp pasta that brings the flavors of the sea to your dinner table in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 8 oz (225g) fettuccine or spaghetti
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Melt unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and keep warm.
  4. Pour heavy cream into the skillet, scrape up any bits from the bottom, and stir in Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, and salt and pepper. Allow to simmer for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Add drained pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce. If too thick, add reserved pasta water gradually until desired consistency is reached.
  6. Return shrimp to the skillet, squeeze in lemon juice, and toss everything together. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For a thicker sauce, reduce simmering time. Use freshly grated Parmesan for best results. Adjust red pepper flakes to preferred spice level.
